Research Prices & Services
§ $18 per hour with 3 hour minimum for normal research.
§ Flat $18 for projects taking less than an hour.
§ If you do not request a report (see details below—FTM Report), the results of our research will be sent to you via spreadsheet.
§ If we do research outside our normal area, we charge 38¢ per mile, $18 per hour for actual research, and $5 per hour for travel time. Plus any fees we are charged for researching; such as copies, parking, etc. We always try to ask before making copies, etc. to make sure it is ok with the client, as they are charged the price we are charged for these additional fees. You will be invoiced for the exact costs of any fees charged to us for researching.
§ We will begin your research upon recieving a $54 deposit (three hours of research) unless we estimate that your inquiry will take under an hour in which case the deposit will be $18.
§ FTM (Family Tree Maker) report in MS (Microsoft) Word format is $25 for entering the information into the program and the first two pages of the report. Each additional page of the report is $5.
§ Rates vary for Census Synopsis, so please contact us at celticgiraffe@gmail.com.
§ Cemetery Research requires a deposit of $25 for us to begin your research (which is deducted from the total hourly cost of research). The fee for travel to and from cemeteries is 60¢ per mile. If we email photos to you there is no charge, for prints it is 32¢ per print plus the actual cost of postage. § Look-ups in our own personal library are free!
§ Current/continuing/returning clients will remain paying the fee in which we begin doing their research for. For instance, if we charge $18 dollars per hour when we begin working for you, your fee to us will remain $18 per hour, as long as we work on the current research project.
To begin...
Simply contact us with details of the research services you would like us to provide you. If it is family history research, please give us any and all information you already have on the individual(s), place(s), etc. that you know, as this will help us to complete your research to the utmost satisfaction. The more facts you can give us, the better chance of us finding more information for you.
Upon hearing from you, we will require a payment of $54 (the first three hours of research), made payable to Celtic Giraffe Research, sent to P.O. Box 125, Highspire, PA 17034. We will then bill you for the remainder as the work is completed.

Other Services
§ Complete research on a beginning ancestry for you. This can be from a few hours to a few weeks, to a few months... and could be an outcome of a two-page report to an 80-page report. You hire us for a specific task or time. We will provide you a written report of the results.
§ We can be hired by the hour to do general or specific tasks. We can do research on a specific person, or on a specific document, or at a specific repository. We are here to help you in your family history research or to find records for whatever reason you may need them.
§ We sometimes do research outside our area, depending on the circumstances. Please read below, “Research Prices” for more information.
§ We will prepare an FTM (Family Tree Maker) report from the information we find for you in MS (Microsoft) Word format.

Unique Research Services
We can do a complete census synopsis of a particular name in a particular area for any available census. We have discovered a lot of hidden information by doing these. Sometimes names are missed, or misspelled, or even indexed wrong on the census indexes.
As well, relationships can be discovered by the proximity of neighbors. Click on the button below to see an example synopsis. We have access to 100% of available federal census data, as well as state, slave, and other census records. |
